· Maintain clean your mouth and your dental implants. Successful oral treatment requires the cleanest of the mouth possible. Starting on the evening of your surgery, you can also get to clean your other teeth as well.
· Hot salt washes are perfect for treatment in the first week, but do not brush the surgery for the early few days but then continue to clean this region with a toothbrush until tenderness allows.
· Make sure the mouth washing isn't so warm that it touches and keeps the heat over the surgical site until it refreshes. Repeat as many times as you can.
· Try to keep food as long as necessary away from the surgical field. Clean the area after eating.
· You should not smoke until the smoke is healed, and it severely limits mouth healing.
What should avoid after implant treatment?
Be careful only to eat cold drinks and to eat local
anesthetic. For the first day, avoid warm beverages or hot food and not swill
liquids around the area. Try to prevent your tongue or fingers from disturbing
the area. Don't do strenuous activities for the first 48 hours.
Swelling around the implant
Following the treatment, you might experience
swelling, usually reaching its height 2 to 3 days later. It is very typical,
and after a few days, both will decrease naturally. Ice packs wrapped in a
towel will minimize swelling. Keep the cheek region for a 20-minute break for
up to 10 minutes. The heat is more valuable after twenty-four hours. Sleeping
on two or three pillows slightly supported will also help.
Will the implant treatment cause pain?
Pain is not a big worry. Though you might be sore for
several days after an operation in your mouth, quick analgesics will
comfortably handle it. For the first two days of the service, you can take them
daily at the full dosage. Take any painkillers you usually get for headaches,
aches, then sprains, and take the first dosage until the anesthetic has fully
abated. Take ibuprofen and paracetamol.
If you feel increased pain and swelling for a few days, you can return to the Implant Centre to make sure you do not start an infection.
Can you wear the denture after treatment?
If you have a surgical denture, wear it to secure the
operative site during the initial healing period as least as possible during the
first week. At night the denture can still leave out.
The stitches around the implant
· Dissolving stitches frequently last about two or three weeks. You should contact us to delete them if they are inconvenient or distracting.
· Mild bleeding is common after the implant. If the condition persists, apply pressure to a dampened gauze swab and clean the handkerchief for 60 minutes. Do not continue to inspect or change the gauze.
· If bleeding goes on after pressure has been applied in this way. Please check that you finish the course if you have been given an antibiotic course to take after the surgery.
